Justin Bieber's retweet causes girl to get death threats and online abuse

A teenager from Great Britain found herself at the centre of a huge online backlast recently after Canadian sensation Justin Bieber retweeted a message she had posted.

Writing on the social networking site, Courtney Barrasford told her own followers on Twitter how impressed she was with the 'Boyfriend' superstar's new acoustic album, 'Believe Acoustic': "Not a really a fan of Justin Bieber but his acoustic album is actually good!"

Bieber took notice of the praise and shared her tweet with his 35 million fans, but unfortunately she was met with a wave of criticism, verbal abuse and even death threats. Being targeted by such an extensive group of people caused her to consider closing her account and she wrote: "So tempted to delete twitter and no I'm not saying this for attention!"

Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper about her ordeal, Barrasford explained: "It started to get worse as more people found out. I had things like 'you’re not a fan, go kill yourself.'" She added: "So far things hadn’t got to me. But then they started saying I was pregnant with his child, and that my child would be a prostitute."
