Backstreet Boys star celebrates after reaching his fundraising target for horror movie

Singer Nick Carter, of the Backstreet Boys, recently set up an Indiegogo page to try and raise enough funds to make a film.

He co-wrote a horror movie, entitled 'Evil Blessings, but didn't have the money to produce it and turn the project into a reality so called on fans to help out with the financing. He set a target of $85,000 (£56,667) and has now raised more than $88,888 (£58,667).

Writing on his official Twitter page this evening (August 9), the 'I Want It That Way' superstar explained that he is overwhelmed by the support and is incredibly excited to get started:

"Holy crap. You guys are kicking ass on this campaign.I really can't believe it. I go to sleep, wake up and Wow! WE ARE REALLY MAKING A MOVIE! You proved the haters wrong for sure. Lol. I'm astonished. So proud of you guys. Guys we're gonna make a movie!!!!"
