Taylor Swift "excited" to move on to next musical chapter

Taylor Swift has spoken of her excitement at creating new music.

The singer's last album came in the shape of 2012's 'Red' and she has been touring in support of the record ever since.

Speaking at a press conference in Shanghai, Swift said that she is proud of the success 'Red' has achieved.

However, the county-pop superstar is keen to get cracking on new material. She said:

"With ending The Red Tour, this has been a long tour; this will be the last leg. What that means is I can throw myself into the next project.

"I've already been working hard on it and it's already my favourite thing that I've ever created. It's exciting knowing this is the end of a musical era that I'm proud of, and it's also exciting moving on to the next."

Swift is due to perform in Shanghai tonight (May 30) before playing in Asia until June 12.
