Taylor Swift: 'I'm finally defining life on my own terms and enjoy being single'

'Shake It Off' superstar Taylor Swift recently sat down for an interview with People magazine and opened up about being a single woman, which she explained is 'liberating' and gives her time to focus on herself.

Speaking to the publication, the country-pop beauty explained that she made a conscious choice to stop dating for the time being and has found it to be so rewarding so far:

"The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms. Being on my own, prioritising my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try. It's really been a liberating and freeing time."

"I made the decision to spend time on my own and figure out who I am. When you take the other person out of the scenario and you're walking through life on your own, you end up figuring out what you actually like without anyone else's input."

She went on to add that she's confident she'll be happy regardless of her relationship status because working on herself means that she is starting to learn how to be content in her own skin: "I'm not too worried about whether I meet someone. I'm going to be happy either way."
