Taylor Swift on new tour: "Expect the unexpected"

Taylor Swift has teased fans about her upcoming tour.

The country-pop star is kicking off her massive North American tour tonight (March 13) in promotion of her 2012 album 'Red'.

Speaking to MTV, the '22' singer revealed that she is gunning for a more "mature" feel to her stage show, telling fans to "expect the unexpected". She said:

"I think that the visuals kind of portrayed on this tour will be, I guess, more grown-up and a little more mature than things we've done in the past. And I think on my previous albums and my previous tours I've really liked to operate in the element of fantasy and I think that this tour will incorporate a little more reality into the visuals, which is nice."

Swift added: "I think from the Red Tour fans can expect the unexpected. I think I really like the element of surprise and I love incorporating that into the shows. I like for these tours to be completely different from every single one we've done."

Collaborator and friend Ed Sheeran meanwhile is due to provide support on her North American dates. Watch Taylor Swift perform for Comic Relief below:
