Wiz Khalifa beats Sam Smith and Ellie Goulding for Critics' Choice award

Wiz Khalifa bagged a prize at this year's Critics' Choice Awards.

A total of six acts vied for the Best Song gong at this year's ceremony, which was held in California on Sunday (January 17).

Rapper Khalifa won the prize for his Furious 7 track 'See You Again'.

He beat off the likes of Sam Smith's Spectre theme and Ellie Goulding's 'Love Me Like You Do', which featured in 50 Shades of Grey.

Khalifa's tune saw the US star team up with Charlie Puth.

The single peaked at No.1 in host of countries, including the US and the UK.

The main winners at the Critics' Choice Awards meanwhile included Spotlight, which won Best Picture.

Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor for his role in The Revenant, while Brie Larson collected the Best Actress prize for Room.
