Yoko Ono to unveil new non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

Musician and activist Yoko Ono unveils the new non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus next month in Liverpool.

Ono, along with special guests, will be in Liverpool for the European launch of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus on May 8 at the Museum of Liverpool. The event will be streamed live for a global audience.

The bus is dedicated to young people of Europe to provide them with free hands-on opportunities to produce original music, video, photo, game apps and broadcast projects in the bus's mobile recording studios.

Montblanc, Apple and Sony are among the companies who have contributed their equipment and funds to underscore a commitment to art, culture and education.

Ono said: "The educational bus is a huge success in the USA. But John would have been extra thrilled that it is now launching in Europe, starting in Liverpool, his home town."

People will be able to preview the bus before it sets off on a tour of the UK and Europe. The bus will also be at the Yoko Ono curated Meltdown Festival on the South Bank in London this June, amongst other soon to be announced dates.

Yoko Ono Lennon added: "I'm so thrilled that the Educational Tour Bus will be situated at Meltdown. All kids who are interested in making music and learning how to use instruments in the recording studio should come and make use of this freebie!"

Plans are underway to further expand the project to China and Japan.
