Norwegian black psych metal act Furze released a new single, “Post Mortem Trippin’”, from its upcoming eighth album. Entitled “Caw Entrance” the new album will be released on 5 April 2024 under licence to Devoted Art Propaganda from Polytriad Fingertips.

Pre-orders for "Caw Entrance" can be placed now via Devoted Art Propaganda and Furze’s Bandcamp and Polytriad Fingerprints. “Caw Entrance” will be available in CD, LP, cassette and digital formats. The release will be accompanied by a new T-shirt design. The pre-orders will also include an exclusive A2 poster.

Previously Furze released the track “Foresee His Infernal Rites” which will also be a part of “Caw Entrance” and can be streamed now via all major streaming services, including Spotify and Bandcamp.

With “Caw Entrance”, the “Furze penetration” is again at full display and shows a hostile development of songwriting. The album goes even further into the psyche to find creative portals of new kick-ass and old-school black metal! With true fire, Woe J. Reaper demonstrates to the world his shrieking lines of blasphemous poetry, and sometimes you don't know if the way out of the grip is “strength” or “death”.

The way “blasphemy” enters here - it goes so much further than just attacking or mocking religions. In the Furze universe, you’ll be forced to think thrice and hopefully experience the songs with a touch of different power each time you approach them. The rules disappear, questions about mankind enter and your mind penetrates new territory! All Furze albums share this universal spirit of opposites.

Woe J. Reaper says: “You don't like the production? Oh, luck gently off! Coherently we advise all listeners to grab a nice pair of headphones and listen to this album that way. No background listening sessions will work and not even your stereo for that sake. It's strange but true: special details were impossible to secure into both ways of listening. Don't worry: Lots of work was laid down with mastering too, and what’s closer to a simple level adjustment from the mix worked like a superhorse so the result is clear: Headphone listening sessions are the only way to enter one’s Caw Entrance.”

“Post Mortem Trippin’ is the most obvious example where the guitars are playing different things, totally mono in each left/right side. The balance is only possible to reach if going for headphones! As Cezary from Devoted Art Propaganda himself experienced, this album needs time and then it prevails.”

Furze was established in 1998 in Trondheim, Norway out of the dust of the Woe J. Reaper project. Under the Furze name, seven full-length albums were released: Trident Autocrat (2000, Apocalyptic Empire Records), Necromanzee Cogent (2003, Apocalyptic Empire Records), UTD (2007, Candlelight Records), Reaper Subconscious Guide (2010, Agonia Records), Psych Minus Space Control (2012, Fysisk Format), Baphomet Wade (2015, Freshtea) and The Presence… (2018, Polytriad Fingerprints). On top of that Furze/Woe J. Reaper’s discography also consists of multiple demos, EPs and compilations. The early demos were released in a time in the pre-2000s when there was little originality in black/old school metal – Furze is probably Norway's (or the underground in general) most influential music to arrive in the late 1990s/2000 when talking about black metal newcomers. Fenriz of Darkthrone fame praised Furze and even featured it as his “band of the week” and played tracks on his Fenriz Radio.

Furze and Woe J. Reaper recently celebrated their 25th anniversary with the release of a limited and special edition cassette box set (available via Devoted Art Propaganda). The box set includes the original Woe J. Reaper “Necromanzee” demo from 1998 on one tape, while the second tape consists of unreleased material from 1992-1998. Limited to only 100 copies, it comes in two cassettes with two separate artworks in a common box. The first tape comes with the original 1998 demo art. The other comes with a newly assembled 1992-1998 "Drinking the Blood of Metal" artwork with unseen photos and extensive liner notes describing that period of Furze’s history and the local scene. It will not be available on streaming services.
