‘GMA’ Wins the First Three Weeks of the Season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the First Time in 8 Years

Season to Date, ‘GMA’ Ranks as the No. 1 Morning Newscast in Total Viewers for the 11th Consecutive Year and Is Nearly Tripling Its Lead Over ‘Today’ to Its Largest in 7 Years

“Good Morning America” ranked as America’s No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (3.061 million), Adults 25-54 (735,000) and Adults 18-49 (522,000) during the week of Oct. 3, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In fact, “GMA” won the first three weeks of the season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the first time in 8 years — since the 2014-2015 season.

“GMA” outdelivered “Today” (2.813 million, 706,000 and 501,000) by 248,000 Total Viewers, by 29,000 Adults 25-54 and by 21,000 Adults 18-49. “GMA” posted its largest news demo lead over the NBC program this season. In addition, “GMA” substantially increased its Total Viewer lead versus the year-ago week(+77%; vs. 140,000).

Season to date, “GMA” (3.176 million) is ranking as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers for the 11th consecutive year. “GMA” is leading NBC’s “Today” (2.836 million) by 340,000, nearly tripling its lead from the same point last season (+186%; vs. 119,000) to its largest in 7 years — since the 2015-2016 season.

In addition, “GMA” (745,000) is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54, beating “Today” (734,000) in the key Adult news demo (+11,000) for the first time in 8 years — since the 2014-2015 season.

During the week, “GMA” (3.061 million, 735,000 and 522,000, respectively)beat “CBS Mornings” (2.374 million, 531,000 and 357,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+687,000), Adults 25-54 (+204,000) and Adults 18-49(+165,000).
