10 April 2024 – Following BEAT Music Fund’s acquisition of King Street Sounds, one of the oldest and most respected independent dance music labels in New York City, Armada Music is honoring and preserving the Black- and LGTBQ-led house movement that started 30 years ago at Paradise Garage with a relaunch of the label. This cements BEAT’s mission to breathe new life into the catalogs it acquires.

The relaunch includes:

• a remix package featuring talent like South African DJ Kasango, Demuja and Demi Riquisimo,
• a documentary on the history of the label, created in partnership with Beatport
• a visual rebrand of the label

Through the continued work of label founder Hisa Ishioka and a dedicated team of dance music experts, a new wave of talent pumps the beating heart of this iconic label, weaving existing releases into the modern ecosystem to educate and entertain both new ears and existing fans.
