The Ranganation - Series Three

Returning to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer Sunday February 7

"Essentially it's going to be very much like series two, except for that we're not relying on the internet in my garage for the show to work! It’s going to be me in a studio, the Ranganation and the guests will be at home. Being a bit more intimate changed the dynamic in the show, and I think that people liked that" — Romesh Ranganathan

Romesh Ranganathan’s Bafta-nominated topical comedy show The Ranganation returns to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on 7 February to bring a dose of optimistic entertainment to the nation, with guests Jack Dee and Alex Jones joining him for episode one.

Romesh has traded his garage in for a studio but will once again be joined virtually by his focus group, the Ranganation - 20 loveable, outspoken characters who represent a cross section of modern Britain. Each week two celebrity guests will also be beamed into the studio to mull over the lighter end of the news spectrum alongside Romesh and the Ranganation. Previous guests have included Aisling Bea, Danny Dyer, Freddie Flintoff, Jo Brand, Katherine Ryan, Paloma Faith and Richard Osman.

Past discussions with members of the Ranganation - such as Technophobe, Gen Z, Never Voted, Lord Dave and Romesh’s Mum - have covered such disparate areas as paranormal activity, homeschooling during lockdown, dating apps, whether or not you should wash your legs in the shower, and of course Trousers or No Trousers?

The show continues to grow in popularity and series two averaged 1.4m viewers, a 27 percent increase from series one. Series one and two are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

The Ranganation is a Zeppotron (a Banijay UK company) production for BBC Two. Ruth Phillips and Richard Cohen are Executive producers for Zeppotron, Mark Barrett is the Series Producer and Barbara Wiltshire is the Director. The show was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller, BBC Two and Jo Wallace, Acting Controller Entertainment Commissioning. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Katie Taylor.
