What’s your most memorable moment from Wimbledon over the years and why?

“A lot of my earliest Wimbledon memories are all from the 90’s. Coming home from school to cheer Tim Henman on, or watching Richard Krajicek serve his way to the trophy in an unlikely final against Malivai Washington.

“But my favourite player in that era was Goran Ivanisevic. He was so cool and charismatic. The fact he seemingly KEPT losing to Sampras (including that five set final in 1998) made me really sad, so when he came back in 2001 as a wildcard and stunned Moya, Roddick, Rusedski, Safin, Henman then Rafter - It really made me believe in the power of sport, dreams and that nothing is impossible.”

What makes Wimbledon such an iconic tournament in the sporting calendar?

“I can’t think of many tournaments that bring fans and non-fans together in such a way as Wimbledon. Everyone from hardcore fans, to people who only think the sport happens for two weeks of the year, are glued to their screens and get really invested in the narratives.

“I love how rooted in tradition the event is, yet it is unfailingly open and welcoming to everyone to come and enjoy the sport.”

What should tennis fans be excited for this year?

“I’m super excited to see if the 'big three in women’s tennis - Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina - can really develop into a rivalry. I’d love to see a big match between at least two of them here to really spark it into life. I am also excited to see if Ons Jabeur can cast her spells on the grass again to wow the crowd, and perhaps go one step further than last year. Lastly, I’m cheering for Coco Gauff. She burst onto the scene a few years ago as a 15-year-old, but now she’s a consistent and intelligent 19-year-old with so much to her game.

“On the Men’s side, there is clearly one huge favourite - Djokovic. Yet behind him there is a lion waiting to pounce in Carlos Alcaraz.

“Lastly, I’m super excited to be taking over as the presenter of Today at Wimbledon. The programme is an absolute institution and something that I am truly honoured to be presenting. The focus is (and always will be) on the tennis - showcasing the best of the days’ play and offering insightful analysis from our brilliant experts. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to adding my enthusiasm, personality and love for the sport to the BBC’s coverage.”
