Announcing This Year's Radio 1 Dance Awards Winners

The inaugural Radio 1 Dance Awards take place tonight (10 December) in a special show hosted by Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Sarah Story and Pete Tong (Radio 1, 6-10pm).

Launching for the first time this year, Radio 1’s Dance Awards is celebrating a year of incredible Dance music, with a range of awards categories recognising the stand-out tracks, artists and moments from the past twelve months.

Tonight Danny Howard, Sarah Story and Pete Tong come together to present the awards, followed by an all-out afterparty to end the celebratory night. Among the winners are Belfast duo Bicep, picking up Dance Album of the Year for Isles; London-based DJ and producer TSHA, awarded for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and Ayr’s Ewan McVicar, scooping up Dance Track of the Year for his summer anthem Tell Me Something Good.

  • Dance Impact Award (A person, collective or institution that has made a legacy by pushing Dance music forward in 2021)
    Yousef, Circus Liverpool

  • Dance Album Of The Year (Awarded to the best Dance or Electronic album project release in 2021)
    Bicep – Isles

  • Dance Track Of The Year (Awarded to the biggest Dance track of 2021)
    Ewan McVicar - Tell Me Something Good

  • Breakthrough Artist Of The Year (Awarded to artist who has broken through to the mainstream this year)

  • Dance Vocalist Of The Year (Awarded to the vocalist whose voice we’ve all been singing along to this year)

  • Essential Mix Of The Year
