The line-up for the summer months of June, July and August is as follows:

June: Anfisa Letyago & Ewan McVicar
July: DJ Leon Vynehall & Nia Archives

Anfisa Letyago

Located in Naples, Anfisa has gone from a cherished local DJ in Southern Italy to one of techno’s most-talked about names, supported by dance music fans all over the globe. She is poised to take over clubland with her unique blend of techno, breaks and trance.

Anfisa says: “I am truly happy and honoured to have been offered this residency on Radio 1. It will undoubtedly be a unique experience and I am looking forward to guiding listeners through my world and discovering my music universe together.”

Ewan McVicar

Hailing from Ayr, Scotland, Ewan McVicar‘s energy behind the decks and his fearless approach to production makes him one of the most promising artists of his generation. Nominated in the Breakthrough DJ category at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards in 2020 and producing the anthem of the summer last year with ‘Tell Me Something Good’ he is ascending rapidly up the ranks.

Ewan says: “It’s surreal that I’m going to be doing Radio 1’s Residency – this is definitely bucket list material. I used to sit in my car in Ayr and listen to Annie Mac every weekend. This really is a dream come true”.

Leon Vynehall

Leon Vynehall has built a reputation as one of the most respected and ambitious producers in the UK. Highly regarded for his musical output and forward-thinking approach, Leon has established himself as a genuine artist of musicality and craftsmanship in the UK and internationally. His carefully crafted mixes have made waves, with his Essential Mix making the top 5 shortlist for Essential Mix of the year and his DJ-Kicks Mix and most recent Fabric Presents compilation receiving rave reviews on Resident Advisor and beyond.

Leon says: “It's a pleasure to be invited to Radio 1’s residency. My formative years were spent listening to many late-night Radio 1 shows; from the weekday alternative music slots, to Saturday's Essential Mixes. I have been fortunate enough to contribute my own entry to the Essential Mix archives, and now I'm looking forward to joining the residency roster.”

Nia Archives

Bradford born-DJ and producer Nia Archives offers up a selection of high-octane sounds typical of her ‘future-classic’ take on jungle, drum ‘n’ bass and a hybrid take on soul and rap. Her music covers every genre of music history, displayed on her latest offering ‘Forbidden Feelingz EP’. Nia recently picked up the ‘Producer of the Year’ NME award and featured on the cover of Mixmag.

Nia says: “I’m buzzing to be part of this residency. I remember being a kid listening to Radio 1 in the car, so to have this opportunity means the world. I’m going to use it to showcase some of my favourite jungle tunes old and new straight out of the underground - cannot wait.”

Chippy Nonstop

Chippy Nonstop has become one of the most exciting artists flying the flag for the hard dance sound. She incorporates elements of the most forward thinking underground club, electronic and techno music creating a playful, pop crossover album that will turn heads and once again put the artist on the forefront of popular culture.

Chippy says: “I am so excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to present a radio residency on Radio 1. I want to show listeners the different dimensions of dance music and how different diasporas, traditions and upbringings can create the most beautiful and unexpected stories.”

Dan Shake

Known for joyous and often cathartic sets, Dan Shake has widely established himself as a house and disco star of his own. Following a successful 2021 as one of the most in demand DJ's in the festival and club circuit. His infectious charm continues to gather acclaim from fans and press alike, with 2022 having already seen him grace the cover of Mixmag, sell out London's Electric Brixton and most recently contribute to the esteemed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix series.

Dan says: “Radio 1 has been a huge part of my music education, so to be asked to join their residency and have the opportunity to share the music I love is surreal and exciting!

"Expect an eclectic mix of genres which inspire me from around the globe. Both new and old.”
