BBC Three has commissioned a new series, Paddy & Molly: Show No Mersey following the lives and careers of Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann, as they enter the next phase of their professional and personal lives.

The new show will follow Liverpool natives and best friends, Paddy and Molly, two charismatic MMA fighters who are making a massive impact in UFC, which is hailed as one of the fastest growing sports in the world. This frank, funny and up-close series will follow Paddy and Molly’s journey inside and outside of the cage as they take on the biggest fights of their lives - which will determine their legacy in the MMA world - all whilst juggling their relationships with friends and family.

Paddy is infamously known to be brash and full of bravado in and out of the cage, whilst Molly is introspective and emotionally raw but no less outgoing. With their no-holds-barred careers, inspiring stories and powerful personalities, both are united by a hunger to win and a willingness to do anything to help each other out, both professionally and personally.

The series will also showcase their hometowns in Merseyside, celebrating the region’s rich culture. From the sandy and windswept beaches of Crosby where Molly and Paddy both walk their dogs to the vibrant and bustling Baltic Market which is the home to Molly’s restaurant, the reality of Molly and Paddy’s day to day lives will provide a unique look at this vibrant part of the UK.

Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann say: “We can’t wait for you all to see what a day in the life for us both entails. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows and a lot goes into what we do. You won’t believe it until you see it so get watching!”

Steve Regan, Executive Producer for Hello Mary says: “New series are always exciting to create but with characters as brilliant and entertaining as Paddy and Molly and a world that still feels unexplored to many people, this series has made myself and Hello Mary even more excited than usual!”

Nasfim Haque, Head of Content, BBC Three says: “BBC Three has established a track record in lifting the lid on some extraordinary, unexpected yet highly relevant talent to young audiences in the UK, so when we got the opportunity to work with these two brilliant, technicolour sportspeople we simply couldn’t refuse. Prepare yourselves… we cannot wait!”

Viewers will also have an insight into their personal lives by meeting their families, with Paddy’s wife, Laura, and Molly’s fiancée, Ellis, playing pivotal parts of their lives. With Laura currently pregnant with twins and the pair recently buying their dream home, how will Paddy balance his training and fighting career with a hectic home life?

As Molly dedicates time to training and travelling the world to prepare for her next fight, will she be able to fit in quality time at home with Ellis too?

With exclusive access to the dramas, challenges and laughs that go on behind-the-scenes of mixed martial arts, expect to see a side of Paddy and Molly you have never seen before.

Paddy & Molly: Show No Mersey is coming soon on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Transmission details for the series will be revealed in due course.

Paddy & Molly: Show No Mersey (8x30’) is being made by Hello Mary for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Executive Producers for Hello Mary are Steve Regan and Sharyn Mills. It was commissioned by Nasfim Haque, Head of Content for BBC Three and Catherine Catton, Head of Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Ricky Cooper.
