The BBC led the way at the Grierson Awards, winning more than any other broadcaster, at this year’s ceremony held in London on 9 November.

The tally includes two awards for the BBC Factual/ BBC Northern Ireland co-production, Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland which won Best Documentary Series and Best History Documentary. The Real Mo Farah won Best Sports Documentary and Inside Our Autistic Mind, presented by Chris Packham, won Best Science Documentary. There were also wins for the current affairs series Big Oil vs The World which was awarded Best Natural History or Environmental Documentary and for Hannah Fry as Best Documentary Presenter for her film, Making Sense of Cancer with Hannah Fry.

And congratulations also to our own Caroline O Neill who won the Grierson Hero of the Year Award for her work with Deaf and Disabled People in TV, alongside Bryony Arnold and Charlie Pheby.”

The two wins for Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland are in addition to the Rose d’Or nomination the series received on 6 November.
