BBC Northern Ireland has Christmas wrapped, with a merry mix of comedy, cookery and cosmetic craic coming to BBC iPlayer and BBC One NI.

In three new seasonal specials, audiences will get the answers to the questions left in the cliffhanger finale of Made Up In Belfast, find inspiration for some yuletide yumminess with Paula McIntyre and there will be plenty of ‘ho-ho-hos’ and merry mischief-making with Uncle Andy, Billy, Dympna, Ma, Da and Cal in Give My Head Peace.

Laying the ‘foundation’ for some festive fabulousness is the crew from Belfast’s fastest-growing beauty brand in the Made Up In Belfast Christmas Special, coming to BBC iPlayer and BBC One NI on Thursday 21 December from 10.40pm.

In this Christmas catch up, we go behind the glitz and glamour of the cosmetics company for an update on the lives, loves and friendships of the dynamic young team who work there.

Christmas means customers and Alex is busy again with the all-important gift boxes. Emma plans for a sunny season in Australia, but doesn’t want to jet off without having the full traditional Christmas dinner, which Eimhear is only too happy to help with. Meanwhile, Ciara has moved to London to be with her boyfriend and best friend Michéal is finding it tough without her. Robert is also feeling lonely this Christmas as his partner James is away a lot with his new work role. And after his shock announcement at the end of series one, we catch up with the big boss Brendan to see how his Christmas plans are going and what he and his partner Tony are wishing for in 2024.

And it’s from glitter to good ‘auld’ grub with Paula McIntyre’s Hamely Christmas coming to BBC iPlayer and BBC One NI on Friday 22 December from 7.30pm.

Paula will be serving up turkey and all the trimmings with an Ulster-Scots twist in this special programme. She’ll be showing viewers how to make a cloot-covered turkey, cider gravy, sodabreid stuffing, a Savoury King Cake and some spiced biscuits inspired by Ulster-Scots culinary heroine Florence Irwin.

Paula will also visit St Columb’s in Londonderry to hear about hymn-writer Cecil France Alexander, wife of the Ulster-Scots Bishop of Derry back in the 19th century. There, she will be treated to a children’s choir singing one of Cecil’s most famous hymns ‘Once in Royal David City’, before returning home to welcome friends with a festive feast.

Da, Cal, Ma, Uncle Andy, Billy and Dympna and friends are back for some hilarious hijinx in this year’s Give My Head Peace Christmas Special, Total Christmas on BBC iPlayer and BBC One NI on Thursday 28 December at 10.40pm.

Marking 25 years since the series started, Total Christmas sees Uncle Andy up to his usual anarchic antics, this time becoming an especially bad Santa, which leads to Billy making an arrest that could ruin Christmas for everyone. Meanwhile ‘Scrooge’ Da find himself in anything but high spirits when he is visited by three Christmas ghosts. Can he have an epiphany and see the error of his ways in time for Christmas Day?
