BMG’s first-ever production of a stage musical and the most successful new German musical of the year, ​​Ku'damm 56, has sold over 120,000 tickets. Most recently, the musical celebrated its 100th performance at Stage Theater des Westens.

Lauded by critics and audiences alike, the musical adaptation of the successful German TV series based in post-war Berlin enjoyed a successful world premiere in November 2021 and has already been extended through the end of September 2022. BMG funded the show and brought it to the stage in association with sister film and TV production company UFA Fiction under the banner of Bertelsmann’s Content Alliance.

Ku'damm 56 - The Musical was developed by the songwriting team Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer – both long-term music publishing clients of BMG – together with Grimme Award-winning author of the story, Annette Hess.
