BPI announces its next Insight Session for 1st October 2020

The BPI is pleased to announce that the latest in its regular series of Insight Sessions – Feeling Good: Music, Wellbeing & Technology will take place on Thursday, 1st October at 4pm.

The virtual session will be in association with regular partners Music Ally, and will take as its theme the intersection of music, wellbeing and tech. It will explore in particular the latest developments in both the fitness and mental health worlds, the role music plays in this space, as well as the opportunities for commercial music in this thriving environment.

The event falls ahead of World Mental Health Day on Saturday, 10th October.

Further details, including additional speakers, will be announced in due course, but initial confirmed sessions include:

• A presentation on trends in the music, tech & wellbeing arena, including demos – by Music Ally’s Editor-in-Chief Stuart Dredge
• A deep dive into Spotify's fitness playlists ecosystem – by Chaz Jenkins, Chief Commercial Officer at Chartmetric
• An interview with Courtney Phillips, Head of Music at Calm
• A panel discussion featuring:
• Scott Cohen, Chief Innovation Office at Warner Music
• Vickie Naumann, Founder of CrossBorderWorks Consulting and Advising

The BPI Insight Sessions typically explore the relationship between music and technology and how developments are shaping trends in music consumption. The series began in 2014 and previous sessions have included In-Car Entertainment, Blockchain, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Generation Z, Smart Speakers and, most recently, Music & Children.
