To mark the first day of his European tour, Sam Battle, AKA LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, returns with his first solo single this year, Too Many Mistakes, alongside b-side Kitty Got a Fever. Both tracks showcase Battle’s unique ability to packagerelatable life experiences with his renowned production prowess.

Too Many Mistakes, he explains is “a song about those times you mull over silly things you have done, as mundane as not saying hello or something! But they all build up and you can’t sleep,” the song was recorded on his home built modular synthesiser Kosmo.

While some might overlook the topic, on Kitty Got a Fever, Sam tackles the loss of a beloved pet head on, giving voice to the universal experience:

“Kitty Got a Fever is a song about my cat Luna who we had to put down the other week, it was very sad, she had not been well for a while. Bless her cotton socks. It was also recorded using a machine I built the other week called the copicopicopicat which is a modified Watkins copicat tape
delay but instead of 3 tape heads it has 16! To make to funk panned sequence delays, which I think suited this slower song.”

Both tracks are quintessentially LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, contemplative, introspective lyrics set to his signature synth sound.

Earlier this month, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER released an EP with Berlin-based Hainbach, Pipe Dream, on Bandcamp, the EP hit number 3 on the best seller chart and comes to streaming services next month.

In addition to being a songwriter and musician with sold-out tours, Spotify editorial playlists and radio play under his belt, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is also a successful inventor and Youtuber. He has experienced viral success with projects including the Furby Organ and flamethrower organ.

Sam is also the owner and curator of This Museum is Not Obsolete, in Ramsgate, which is home to his impressive builds including the incredible Thousand Oscillator Megadrone, a synthesizer he built in lockdown, which now appears in the Guiness Book of World Records. The museum also features his Furby Organ and Gameboy megamachine as well as other various musical and scientific equipment. LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER’s EU tour starts today with several shows already sold out.
