Global pop sensation New Hope Club and family favourite Shrek the Musical join the stellar line-up

Having recently announced a range of incredible artists including Max and Harvey, Sophia Grace, KIDS BOP and Merseygirls, to an already impressive line up of CBBC favourites inducing Mr Tumble, Andy Day, and Sam and Mark, brand new festival CBBC Summer Social has revealed pop trio New Hope Club and Shrek the Musical will also be performing.

Generating over 1.1 million streams over the last month, global sensation New Hope Club, consisting of Reece Bibbly, Blake Richardson and George Smith, will be bringing their pop-rock hits to Liverpool this summer. Taking a break from their global arena tour with pop band The Vamps, the band will be performing favourites Fixed, Tiger Feet, Water and Start Over Again and guaranteed to be a festival highlight.

Speaking about New Hope Club’s appearance at the festival, Reece Bibbly said: “We’ve been touring arenas all over the world with The Vamps and we’re so excited to be performing back in the UK for CBBC Summer Social. The response to our first EP has been incredible and we’ll be sure to put on an amazing performance for everyone at the festival in Liverpool."

West End and Broadway hit, Shrek the Musical, has also been added to the bill for Sunday 5 August. The theatre adaptation of the animation has been picking up excellent reviews so far this year whilst on its new UK and Ireland tour, with a feisty Princess, a lovestruck Dragon and all the charm of an Ogre, the performances are sure to bring the magic of the big screen.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Grade II listed Croxteth Hall in Croxteth Country Park, revelers can expect the very best of CBBC programming including immersive activity zones, theatre shows, interactive and inspiring art workshops, top class musical experiences, cool outdoor and sporting activates, junior discos, themed treasure hunts, gaming areas, character walkabouts, vlogger meet and greets, live appearances from the most popular children’s authors and much, much more.

Taking place 3-5 August at Croxteth Country Park in Liverpool, CBBC Summer Social is the BBC’s biggest ever kids event, and the only festival to give 6-12year old’s and their families a unique lineup of CBBC favourites, alongside a host of international music acts including Union J, Johnny Orlando, Matt Terry and Mackenzie Ziegler.
