BBC Children’s and Education announces an exciting line-up of new programmes for young audiences on CBeebies and CBBC, promising a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and inspiration for children and families across the UK.

Patricia Hidalgo, Director of BBC Children’s and Education says: "We stand at the forefront of children’s programming, investing significantly in delivering quality content across a diverse spectrum of genres. Our latest wave of commissions demonstrates our commitment to providing children and families with moments they can enjoy together to be entertained and inspired as well as helping them understand the world around them.”

Kicking off the line-up is Monster Makes a burst of creativity for pre-schoolers hosted by CBeebies favourite Rebecca Keatley and the lovable Murphi, a funny and furry monster with a penchant for inventive creations. Murphi's simple ethos, that anyone can make something brilliant with a bit of monster magic, is at the heart of each episode. Encouraging recycling and creativity, the show, produced by Terrific Television, is scheduled to air this Autumn.

Next up is the animated comedy series Dylan’s Playtime Adventures based on the Scholastic picture books by British author and illustrator Guy Parker-Rees. The titular hero, a multi-coloured striped dog, explores various careers using his imagination and basic props. Produced by 9 Story Media Group and Brown Bag Films, the delightful series is set to air in Autumn.

Maddie + Triggs a 2D animated series from Turnip + Duck, follows the adventures of 7-year-old Maddie, who loves music and has a vision impairment, and her mischievous doggy best friend, Triggs. Set in the vibrant town of Higgledy-Piggledy, a place full of colourful inhabitants and lots of sounds, the series aims to authentically represent the experiences of viewers like Maddie, ensuring inclusivity in scripting, casting, and a visually accessible aesthetic.

The goal is to create an enjoyable show where both sighted and vision-impaired children can have an equal and fun experience. Accompanying podcasts offer an engaging audio experience with rich storytelling and original music for kids to explore Maddie + Triggs' imaginative world. Maddie + Triggs premieres on CBeebies in October

Pre-schoolers are going to love the new friends in The Weasy Family. Set in a barn in the middle of the cornfields.; Weasy is an irresponsible Weasel who raises twin ducklings he adopted after accidentally incubating their egg. Coming to CBeebies in 2025, The Weasy Family promises to be a quirky addition to the line-up.

Returning with a new twist is Fred & Pete in Art Adventure. This live-action, funny factual series challenges the duo to draw off-the-wall pictures, offering tips and tricks while showcasing the beauty of Cornwall and Devon. Produced by Screen Glue, the series promises laughter and artistic inspiration and comes to CBeebies later this year.

Older children won’t miss out as brand new to CBBC, Pickle Storm takes young audiences on a hilarious journey with 9-year-old Pickle Storm, escaping from the fantasy world of Kleftania to the extraordinary UK town of Middlington. The clash between the fantastical and the everyday creates unforgettable adventures in this brand-new comedy series.

Returning for a fifth season on CBBC in Autumn, the fearless Steve Backshall MBE is back with Deadly 60, tracking down the world’s deadliest and most endangered animals. From jungles to oceans, Steve explores the threats these creatures face from extreme weather events, habitat loss, and pollution, including a descent in a submersible off the coast of Spain for a unique underwater adventure.

CBBC will also encourage young viewers to explore the kitchen with Cooking Buddies featuring 13-year-old Buddy Oliver, son of chef Jamie Oliver. Premiering this summer, the show sees Buddy and kids aged 9-14 sharing their culinary skills and hobbies with each other.

From basketball, street art, karate, and ice skating, to boxing, BMXing, hip hop, salsa and even Irish dancing, the cooking ‘buddies’ showcase their talents with the nation and teach Buddy Oliver something new, as both of them embark on a culinary adventure.

With surprise appearances from the Oliver family, Cooking Buddies promises an engaging culinary adventure for young chefs and their families.
