Hit Features series How to Lose Weight Well set to return to Channel 4

After a hugely successful first run, Channel 4 Features series How to Lose Weight Well will return for a 5-part run in 2017.

With a massive 11 million of us – almost 1 in 6 – on some form of diet in a bid to slim down for an upcoming event, dieting is more popular than ever. But with over 100,000 diet books available online, which one is most likely to answer our weight loss prayers safely?

In How to Lose Weight Well (5x60’), Dr Xand Van Tulleken, café chef Stacie Stewart and dietician Hala El-Shafie will be on hand as six dieters road test some of the most popular, and some of the most bizarre, diets on the market. They’re all dieting for different events – weddings, parties and summer holidays – and working to different timeframes ranging from two weeks to four months. The series will chart every triumph – and tantrum – along the way.

Dr. Xand will also put his body on the line in the name of science, trying out some of the latest weight loss gadgets and meeting some of the medics behind these cutting edge weight-loss techniques.

The series was commissioned by Channel 4 Head of Features Gill Wilson and will be produced by Little Gem. The Series Editor is Kurt Seywald, Series Director Meyrick Cook with Natasha Bondy and Ben Gale executive producing.
