Adapted from the Emmy-nominated series Web Therapy created by Lisa Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky and Don Roos

Channel 4 have announced today casting for Hang Ups, new (6 X 30) comedy series, which has just wrapped filming and is due to air on the channel in 2018.

Clients and associates of fallen-from-grace-therapist Richard Pitt, played by Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing, Dirk Gently), include Richard E. Grant (The Fear, Game of Thrones), Jessica Hynes (W1A), David Tennant (Broadchurch; Doctor Who), Katherine Parkinson (Humans; The IT Crowd), Karl Theobald (Alan Partridge, Green Wing), Arsher Ali (Ackley Bridge, Line of Duty), Celia Imrie (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) and Paul Ritter (Friday Night Dinner; No Offence).

Also confirmed to appear are Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Tolu Ogunmefun (Drifters), Monica Dolan (W1A), Sarah Hadland (Miranda), Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones), Lolly Adefope (Loaded), John Macmillan (Chewing Gum, Back) and Harry Lloyd (Manhattan).

Hang Ups (6 X 30) is a farcical, dark and perceptive comedy about a man trying to help other people keep their shit together while his own inexorably falls apart. Heavily improvised, each of Richard Pitt’s therapy sessions are startling, unpredictable, discomfiting and hilarious. See previous announcement here.
