(November 11, 2022 – Los Angeles, CA) – Los Angeles-based rising alt-pop duo Bahari—aka Natalia Panzarella and Ruby Carr—share a new single entitled “Destructive” today. It can be streamed at all DSPs HERE via Epic Records.

Iconic hitmaker Desmond Child penned the new track with Rock Mafia, which feature luminous keys fused to a glitchy beat as the vocal volley between Natalia and Ruby instantly transfixes. Turning heads, the chorus culminates on a confession, “I’m destructive cuz the fighting and the fucking’s so seductive.” Through and through, the song explores self-destructive tendencies with candid honesty and clear heart.

About “Destructive,” the duo comments: “We were always so drawn to this song and kept finding ourselves going back to it. ‘Destructive’ is raw and honest, about how we have come to know ourselves better. Accepting that one’s self-sabotage and destructive behavior, whether conscious or subconscious, is something that is a part of us. Understanding how it affects relationships and how it’s something that almost everyone has dealt with at some point in their life.”

It arrives in the wake of “Hot Mess” featuring artist and producer Yoshi Flower, released earlier this year. In 2021, Bahari dropped the singles “All Around Me” [feat. Cody Lovaas] and “Ways Of Love,” as well as summer 2021 EP Forget You. Along the way, the Gold-certified duo has continued to obtain critical attention from publications such as Ladygunn, Elite Daily, American Songwriter, and more, with Wonderland. praising Bahari’s “intrinsically personal and relatable music,” and Grimy Goods commending their evolution by highlighting the “even sharper and more affecting intimacy in their songwriting and soundscape molding.”

About

About Bahari:
Every so often, two separate journeys collide to form the perfect union in just the right place at just the right time. Bahari blossom from a similar confluence of circumstances. Singer and keyboardist Ruby Carr hails from the tiny island of Lamu off the coast of Kenya, while singer and bassist Natalia Panzarella was born in Nashville but grew up in Southern California. Each of their experiences shapes a dynamic, diverse, and dark take on alternative pop. Generating over 650 million streams and receiving acclaim from Ladygunn, Nylon, Billboard, Ones To Watch, and more, the Los Angeles-based duo bring a shared vision to life. After meeting at a songwriting session at 16-years-old, the girls formed a lifelong bond. Shortly after, Bahari initially made waves with “Wild Ones,” which generated over 40 million Spotify streams. They maintained a consistent pace with the Dancing on the Sun EP [2016] and singles “Get Together” and “Fucked Up.” Along the way, they supported Selena Gomez and Birdy on tour and teamed up with Zedd, ILLENIUM and Grey for collaborations. Bahari earned a viral hit with 2018’s “Savage,” which took on a second life in 2020 with an official remix featuring BIA. The song has generated over 100 million total streams and views and was even utilized to soundtrack promos for “American Horror Stories”. That same year, the duo’s hit collaboration with ILLENIUM, “CRASHING” was featured in the To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You Original Soundtrack. In partnership with Epic Records, the pair released their latest EP Forget You in the summer of 2021 and continue to release more of their intrinsically personal and relatable music into 2022 and beyond.
