The singer/songwriter pair bring electronic elements to their natural songwriting, a contrast mirrored by their big city upbringing and love for the outdoors. The two find inspiration on frequent camping and hiking trips to Yosemite, Joshua Tree and the central coast of California. “Symphony” was written during the back half of a camping trip to Big Sur, which infused the song with a fresh, coastal feeling.

“We spent an entire day walking a remote coastline in Big Sur looking for waves to surf. It felt like these beaches went on forever - around every corner was something new. There was this infinite feeling that we both wanted to encapsulate in music - that’s how we started writing ‘Symphony.’”

“Symphony” is the follow up to their most recent album A Range of Light, released late last year. With a steep personal interest in the natural world, Forester donated all of the revenue from their album live stream to the Nature Conservancy. Look for a new album to arrive from Forester this fall.

About

Los Angeles-based group Forester is an indie electronic duo comprised of Xander Carlson and David Parris, both of whom write and produce with Carlson on vocals. Their music blends acoustic instrumentation with electronic elements that transport the listener to wide-open spaces, allowing for introspection as well as the desire to dance. Their debut album Kerosene was called by L’Officiel “…a nature-infused synth dream selection that marries indie acoustic folk with electro-pop energy tunes.” In 2020, the duo landed a deal on Kygo and his manager Myles Shear’s Palm Tree Records to release their sophomore album A Range of Light. With millions of streams already under their belt and an ethos that calls for an eyes-closed escape, Forester’s future is looking brighter than ever.
