With depth that accompanies wisdom, the grit of anxiety and influences of yesteryear’s troubadours, Heather Russell – the newest edition to leading independent publishing company Prescription Songs – emerges as a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. It has been announced today she has been signed to Prescription Songs by company A&R Chris Martignago.

Originally from Toronto, the 23-year-old is inspired by a love of film noir and pop culture as to be heard on her upcoming debut Knock, the first of a three-part album out today, September 29 (Kick Kick Snare/42 Records). Heather’s songs have a vintage, theatrical feel with a voice akin to the Mariahs and Arianas of the world. After navigating the industry’s twists and turns since signing a major record deal at the tender age of 9, she possesses the determination and life experience to lay it all on the line.
