Something new is coming to Sacramento. Set to open in Q1 of 2025 in Midtown, Channel 24 is a mid-size entertainment venue now in construction. The 2,150 capacity complex located at 1800 24th Street with impeccable sightlines, will feature a main music room with general admission floor viewing and select reserved seats in its tiered balcony, multiple bars with food options, VIP area and upstairs open-air patio.

The 2023 Sacramento Music Census revealed the area was in need of more live music performance venues. Leading independent live entertainment company, Berkeley, CA-based Another Planet Entertainment (APE) – who successfully book and produce shows 52 weeks a year from arenas to 200 capacity rooms & Outside Lands Festival – bring a new edition to the Californian live entertainment landscape with a specially sized venue for Sacramento to fill the space in the market between small club shows and grand-scale auditoriums.

Shares Allen Scott, President of Concerts & Festivals, Another Planet Entertainment, “We have so many artists touring through Northern California that have to skip Sacramento because there is not an appropriately sized venue for them to play. Channel 24, right in the heart of the city, fills that need, and we hope that the venue quickly becomes an integral part of Sacramento’s vibrant live music scene.”

Channel 24 will be a place where fans can come together to experience their favorite music live across all genres. In addition to working with local builder SKK Developments and Ellis Architects, APE brought on Sacramento-based design agency Fathom for its branding and launch. Leading the venue team will be Sacramento residents Jon Gunton and Liz Liles-Brown. The building will also house Another Planet Entertainment Sacramento offices.

“We are excited to see an industry pioneer like Another Planet Entertainment invest in and expand Sacramento’s burgeoning music scene,” said Mike Testa, President & CEO of Visit Sacramento. “Our city is full of great history when it comes to local music and music venues, and the addition of Channel 24 to our market will bring a long list of new entertainment opportunities to our city and region.”

Previous shows APE have brought into the Sacramento region include: Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, Phish, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Vampire Weekend, Dave Matthews Band, MGMT, Pixies, The Black Keys, Neil Young, Florence + The Machine, The Postal Service, Wilco, Simon & Garfunkel, Van Halen, The Cure, Jack Johnson, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Mötley Crüe, Kelly Clarkson, Bob Dylan, ZHU, Jonas Brothers and many more.
