Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone is back! On Saturday June 9th, this summer’s hottest artists will perform live in front of more than 80,000 Capital listeners at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium. This morning on Capital Breakfast, Roman Kemp revealed the first huge names confirmed for the UK’s biggest summer party.

Canadian singer-songwriter and winner of ‘Best Male’ at The Global Awards in March, Shawn Mendes is the first star to be confirmed for this year’s Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone. One of the world’s hottest male solo artists, Shawn’s hits include the massive chart-topper ‘Stitches’ as well as his latest single ‘In My Blood’, which serves as a taster of his hugely anticipated third album. He’ll be flying in to treat Capital listeners to a spectacular set at the Ball.

Shawn Mendes said: “I’m excited. It was insanely fun last year. There is a photo of me walking off the stage and I look back at that photo and it’s like those moments when you watch videos back and it’s very hard to believe that it’s you. That was a super, super memorable thing in my life for sure.”

Roman went on to reveal that British drum and bass stars Rudimental will make a hotly anticipated return to Capital’s Summertime Ball for the first time in five years. Having released one of the biggest anthems of last summer, ‘Sun Comes Up’ featuring James Arthur, they went on to spend an epic nine consecutive weeks at the top of The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 with ‘These Days (feat. Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen)’. One of the best live acts around, they’re guaranteed to bring big party vibes to the Ball.

Roman then announced that Grammy Award-winner Jess Glynne will join her ‘These Days’ collaborators Rudimental on this year’s line-up. One of the UK’s hottest solo stars and hugely in-demand, Jess made history when ‘These Days’ topped the chart, becoming the first British woman ever to score six number one singles.

Charlie Puth also joins this year’s line-up. His top ten hits include ‘Attention’, ‘How Long’ and the massive chart-topping breakthrough smash ‘Marvin Gaye’. He’s worked with everyone from Selena Gomez to Wiz Khalifa and G-Eazy and fans can expect an incredible performance at the UK’s biggest summer party.

Roman then revealed that the multi-talented Jax Jones will get the crowd going at the Ball. The DJ/producer has released some of the biggest dance tunes of recent years, including ‘You Don’t Know Me’ featuring Raye and his most recent record ‘Breathe’ featuring Ina Wroldsen which reached number 4 in The Official Vodafone Big Top 40.
