Harry Styles has released his brand new single, Lights Up, accompanied by its music video.

The track was produced by co-writers, Tyler Johnson and Kid Harpoon, and is the first new music from the former One Direction star in nearly two years, and the lead single from his so-far untitled second solo album.

Earlier this week, billboards were spotted around the world, hinting that Styles might be dropping new music.

Written on the billboards was the line Do You Know Who You Are, along with the 25-year-old's signature motto, TPWK - Treat People With Kindness - on the bottom.

"Do you know who you are?", forms part of the chorus on Lights Up.

Friend Stevie Nicks has described the highly anticipated follow up LP as "spectacular", claiming that it's a world away from the music he made with One Direction.

Stevie revealed: "It's not like his last album. It's not like anything One Direction ever did. It's pure Harry, as Harry would say. He's made a very different record and it's spectacular."
