Burberry's Riccardo Tisci invites artist Anne Imhof to collaborate

on the upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 show experience

Set in the British outdoors, the Burberry Spring/Summer 2021 collection, designed by Riccardo Tisci, will come to life as a live physical presentation that is open for all to experience digitally at 1pm BST on 17 September 2020.

For the first time at Burberry, Riccardo has invited an artist to collaborate with him on the show creative. To bring his vision to life, he partnered with the internationally acclaimed artist Anne Imhof, with the duo radically bringing together fashion and art, examining tensions at the intersections of togetherness and tradition; the natural and the man-made; the real and the unreal.

About Anne Imhof
Anne Imhof is a contemporary German artist known for her endurance performances, paintings, and
revolutionary installation work.

Having studied at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Anne has created several solo exhibitions, including ‘DEAL’ (2015) at MoMA PS1 in New York and ‘Angst II’ (2016) at the Hamburger Bahnhof inYBerlin.

In 2017, Anne Imhof represented Germany at the 57th Venice Biennale transforming the pavilion with her performance piece, ‘Faust’, for which she was awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Participation – an award given to only one of the 85 exhibitions mounted in pavilions in the Giardini della Biennale and across Venice.

In 2019, Imhof unveiled ‘Sex’, a large-scale commission at the Tate Modern, the first project by a solo artist to occupy the full suite of spaces in the Tate Modern Tanks featuring music specially composed together with Billy Bultheel and Eliza Douglas.
