John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen returns to ITV for two more series

A new series of John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen will return to ITV for Saturday mornings this summer.

Series four of the successful series with husband and wife duo John Torode and Lisa Faulkner will begin production later this month at the Television Centre studios in London, with series five transmitting at a later date in 2020.

Adhering to social distancing measures amid the Covid-19 crisis, series four of John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen will be filmed with a minimal crew and following all necessary health and safety advice.

The nation is cooking more than ever and in this new series professional chef John and home cook Lisa will be able to help viewers easily answer the ‘What’s for tea?’ question, with their accessible, imaginative and easy-to-cook ideas for family meal times. Each episode will have a different food theme and the pair will be using easy to source ingredients that viewers will have in their cupboard, fridge or freezer as well as providing plenty of alternatives and at-home hacks.

New to the series, John and Lisa will also feature special how-to demos on techniques, which they prove aren’t as complicated as some cooks may imagine. From showing how easy it really can be to make pasta without a machine or how to prep and cook the perfect aubergine.

The series will be sponsored by Waitrose and recipes from the show will be found online through a dedicated website:

John Torode said:

“Food has always been a massive focus and an important part of our lives, and it's evident that it's becoming more and more so for everyone, especially during these unprecedented times of lockdown. Great food, cooked with a smile brings us a sense of comfort, happiness and warmth, nostalgia and hope. Lisa and I are so looking forward to opening up John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen again and inviting you all in for tips, treats, ideas and great food to inspire and share together. See you at the Weekend…”

Lisa Faulkner said:

“We feel extremely lucky to be able to bring viewers a new series of our show during the current climate and can’t wait for them to share with us all they have been cooking at home.”
