The launch of the new series of ITV's mismatched detectives, McDonald & Dodds, was viewed by 6.4 million viewers including non-TV devices and a narrative repeat.

The series, starring Jason Watkins as DS Dodds and Tala Gouveia as DCI Lauren McDonald, is amongst ITV's top rated dramas of the year so far including The Pembrokeshire Murders, Finding Alice, Unforgotten and The Bay.

The Bath based crime drama, written and created by Robert Murphy and produced by Mammoth Screen, will return to ITV later this year.
