New Zealand singer-songwriter Torn Chorus releases his latest single ‘Time I Wasn’t Here’. Influenced by classic British guitar rock and folk acts including the likes of Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Eric Clapton, Torn Chorus looks to blend these influences together with contemporary stylings to create his own brand of Rock.

‘Time I Wasn’t Here’ continues this trend, a compelling offering that’s backed by catchy melodies and foot-tapping rock grooves atop Torn Chorus’ dynamic vocal performance. The track centres around feelings of escapism, needing to break free from the mundane and taking time for yourself.

Torn Chorus explains further: “I’m sure that most of us have experienced the feelings conveyed in this song at some time or other, especially in the last few years. The need to escape from a stressful situation, get out of lockdown, or just go away for a well-earned break.”
‘Time I Wasn’t Here’ is the lead single taken from Torn’s upcoming album ‘The Meaning Of Light’, a culmination of writing and recording output taken from the last two years, with the album giving the listener a insight into Torn’s thoughts on varied subject matters ranging from the environment, travel, political issues, mythology, love, personal relationships and loss. Each track on the album includes a dedicated music video which visually tells the story behind the song.

Torn Chorus is the performance name of Franklin Davis, based out of Auckland, New Zealand. Franklin has been releasing music under the moniker Torn Chorus since 2019. A multi-instrumentalist, Franklin writes,
records and produces all his music out of his home studio. A keen photographer in his spare time, Franklin looks to convey his view of the world around him through music and visuals, with the multifaceted artist also producing his own music videos. With plenty more material in the works, Torn Chorus looks to continue bringing his own style of Rock from New Zealand to the world.
