Legendary Hip-hop artist and producer Bootie Brown releases his latest single ‘Suddenly’. The release follows on from the success of his release with the Gorillaz, ‘New Gold’ which featured Brown alongside Tame Impala dropped earlier this year.

‘Suddenly’ sees Brown teasing fans with a new electronic-focused sound, the track features vocals from ‘Amy Correa Bell’ and is co-produced by Les Les. The track is the first offering from Brown’s ‘UltraHipFunkWave’ project. ‘Suddenly’ incorporates electronic elements woven together with funk and RnB sensibilities to create a fluid sound that’s difficult not to vibe to. Brown is also due to drop a remix of the track in the coming weeks.

Bootie Brown explains the track further, “Suddenly is just that, as soon as you step into it you are in motion. As a whole I want people to get to know me as a writer / producer”

Hailing from the US Bootie Brown is a Hip-hop artist and producer who helped craft the sound of non-gangster West Coast music, his iconic flow can be heard throughout Brown’s work, starting with The Pharcyde’s hit ‘Passin’ Me By’, their subsequent debut album Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde and Labcabincalifornia has rightly cemented Brown’s legacy in Hip-hop. This experience cultivated Brown’s own creative lanes lyrically and in production within the world of rap, which lead to him working with Dangermouse who introduced Brown to the Gorillaz family. An initial studio session resulted in the song ‘Dirty Harry’ which received a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Alternative Performance off of the Demon Days album. The Dirty Harry collaboration also led to Brown recording a remix of The Gorillaz super iconic “Clint Eastwood” with Dave of De La Soul.

Having been a mainstay in 90’s rap culture along with the meteoric success of his Gorillaz collaborations and successive tours, Bootie Brown now looks to continue evolving his sound as he experiments further with electronic music.
