French trio Exsonvaldes, announce their new single ‘Party People’ from their highly-anticipated upcoming album ‘Maps’, after over a five-year hiatus. Meeting during their engineering studies in Paris, the mathematician rockers have built an identity made of astute tones that exploit their scientific background.

The new single acts as a pinpoint within their chronological voyage, which starts in the nineties and moves towards the present day. ‘Party People’, and the album ‘Maps’, are self-referential while placing itself neatly within the genre, sourcing from every decade of pop since the seventies.

During the band’s formation, twenty-five years ago, the musicians of Exsonvaldes already expressed a strong revulsion against pollution. In Maps, their fifth album, the disgust of an older, wiser trio has turned to furious eco-anxiety.

Party People exemplifies the band’s matured view of their society, blatantly mocking the overindulgence of nights out, as in a mixture of irony, indie pop and anxiety, the single gives shape to a chaotic vision of today’s world. The harmonious musical connection between the band’s members is palpable, with each member seeming to have found their place within the trio with their latest works.

Speaking on the track the band said: ‘It's a song about trying to be noticed, but not fitting anywhere [...]. Party People is not really party music, this time it's about a parasite who crashes your party, drinks all your wine, does anything you want and tells you: "You'll remember me!”’

Their new album, Maps, was written, recorded and produced nearly entirely by the band’s three members. Only the mixing was entrusted to an outside ear, Etienne Caylou (Louise Attaque and Mustang). Spending just over a year writing and recording the record, Exsonvaldes has certainly produced a well-tuned indie-pop gem, ready to find its audience.

The band have previously garnered support from the likes of BBC 6Music, racked up over 3.5million streams across Spotify and had two of their tracks 'Cyclops' and 'Torino' featured in seasons 1 & 3 on Netflix's hit show 'Emily In Paris'. The album will be released in November 2023, with the band touring France, Spain and Germany in February 2024.
