Following the success of his three singles in the latter half of 2023, Chris further cements his place in the pop-rock world with an EP that has, in addition to his album length singles, three more amazing new tracks, and a bonus stripped-back acoustic version of ‘The Sun & The Moon’.

CHRIS OSTLER’s latest EP, aptly named CO2 following the CO1 album, contains funk-rock songs with sincere, powerful messages painted with high energy and emotion. The British singer-songwriter’s highly successful singles of late 2023 , ‘Funk in the Trunk’, ‘The Sun & The Moon’ and the honest life experiences depicted in the release ‘ANXIOUS BOY ‘, are complimented by the three new songs, ‘Open Road’, ‘Who Knows’ and ‘Jam it up Muso’. These catchy new melodies, amplified by Chris’s vocal strength and passion, have the storytelling electric guitar riffs that Chris is becoming known for, which makes them addictive to the listener and have echoes of a fusion between Rascal Flatts, James Arthur, Bryan Adams, All American Rejects and Level 42.

The musicianship and songwriting ability of Chris moves from strength to strength and for those who want to feel raw emotion transformed into beautiful chords and choruses, CO2 is an absolute must. The lyrics of Ostler’s work encapsulates energy, resonating with the listener's life experiences. For example. The romantic personification in ‘The Sun & The Moon’ emanates the struggle of the distance between two souls forever chasing each other and spinning around and capturing their euphoria when they can finally be together. Contrastingly, the earnest sincerity in ‘Jam it up Muso’ with its funky-rock kickstart, harmonious guitar melodies and a jazzy bass riff with attitude!

According to Chris, “I want to share with listeners and help them relive the immensity and power of life itself; we have so many emotional experiences, some amazingly positive, and of course, some challenging, but through music we can collectively support each other and enjoy the beauty of everything we experience. If we’re writing our own melodies of life, lets make them as colourful as possible”.

Hailing from Exeter, Chris Ostler has performed throughout the country. He continues to draw in crowds with his charismatic presence and lively performances, gaining him the privilege of opening for international artists including Joan Armatrading, Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), The Leylines, and garnering support from several BBC Radio stations such as Devon, Leicester and ‘BBC Introducing Southwest’ along the way.

Chris’s EP release CO2, follows on from last year’s successful live schedule which included slots at Oceanfest, Glastonbudget, Lakefest, Snooky Fest and Abbfest. He is now shaping up 2024, which promises up to be another exciting year for this talented, neurodivergent, singer-songwriter with yet more releases planned for the Autumn.
