Singer-songwriter JJ Sterry returns with his latest single, "Another Man," released through Bath House Records. Building on his insightful word-play and experimental folk sound, Sterry now delivers a poignant exploration of hero-worship and the father-son relationship in this captivating track, marking his second release of the year; a precursor to his highly-anticipated debut EP slated for mid-2024.

‘Another Man’ explores the father-son relationship, where idolisation meets unrealistic expectations. Backed by intricate acoustic guitar lines and vocal harmonies, paired with Sterry's candid lyricism, the song weaves a bitter-sweet soundscape, leaving listeners in a reflective state.

On the track's main theme, JJ Sterry says, "It's about your dad being a kind of god when you’re younger. Then as you grow, they seem to weaken physically, the power transfers and the door’s left open to see them as human- with all the flaws and insecurities that brings. It’s cyclical too; just as you start think you’ve become the person you idolised, you're reminded that the same will happen to you too..."

Sterry's musical journey traces back to his beginnings in the London band-circuit before embarking on a transformative experience touring Albania with the British Council. A chance encounter with legendary Gang of Four founder, Andy Gill, led to Sterry's role as the lead singer of the post-punk icons Gang Of Four in recent years, touring with and singing on all of their most recent releases.

Additionally, Sterry has lent his talents to bands like Kid Cruise and FUKC while maintaining a close association with Bath House Records, based in South London. His solo work finds him shedding previous expectations and revisiting the influences who were always on the stereo in his childhood home. Artists like Townes Van Zandt, John Martyn and so many from the late ‘60s English folk revival.

As Sterry gears up for the release of his debut EP and a packed live schedule that includes a coveted slot at Glastonbury festival in June, he looks ahead with excitement, continuing to hone his sound and share his unique brand of honest, lyrically-focused folk music with audiences worldwide.
