Becca Monahan joins Official Charts in new commercial director role

The Official Charts Company has appointed its first commercial director, a move which completes its new senior management team.

Becca Monahan joins the company in the new role after 12 years working in the video industry, including commercial and licensing roles at NBC Universal and Spirit Entertainment.

Monahan’s arrival completes a vibrant new management team, joining alongside operations director Chris Austin and head of brand & digital Lauren Kreisler, all three reporting to chief executive Martin Talbot.

Completion of the new top team follows just two months after Official Charts Company took over compilation of the charts and data for the French music market, turning it into a bona fide international company with contracts for the UK, Ireland and France.

Talbot says, “I’m delighted that Becca has joined us in this new role. She brings a high level of commercial and licensing expertise to the business, at a time of great opportunity right across the entertainment sector. It is incredibly exciting to have Becca join Chris, Lauren and I to drive the Official Charts Company forward.

Monahan joins from her most recent role as global licensing director for Universal Pictures, where she also previously held roles including head of sales and national account manager. In addition, she has held a number of sales roles at Spirit Entertainment.

In the new role, Monahan will be responsible for driving forward commercial opportunities for Official Charts: across its core business areas providing B2B data for the music and video sectors; licensing charts and data to media partners and for consumer products; as well as the fast-growing web platform In addition, she will lead the development of new markets and revenue streams for the company’s internationally renowned services.
