PRS for Music’s M magazine starts new chapterOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY PRS for Music Today, PRS for Music rolls out a new look for its member magazine, M. The refresh, led by PRS’ in-house design team, brings a new logo, a new home at PRSforMusic.com and a renewed focus on helping creators make more of their PRS membership. Launched in 2001 as a print-only magazine, its digital offering arrived in 2010 and has seen readership increase 450% over the decade. Curated to inspire and empower PRS for Music’s 145,500 songwriter, composer and publisher members, as well as the wider industry, M, in print and online, has been an integral part of the society’s membership for almost twenty years. Covering everything from news and career advice, to events, exclusive offers, in-depth interviews, playlists, live sessions, ‘Top Tips’ and ‘How To’ features, M has been enjoyed and shared by a growing membership and their representatives. PRS for Music committed to invest in the digital offering to members at the end of 2019 and has embarked on a programme of improvements, alongside updates to the member-only section of its website. Content created will now be accessible directly through PRS for Music’s website, member newsletters and is fully mobile friendly, reflecting the increasing desire of its readers to be digital first. The print edition was retired in July 2019 after feedback that digital was a preference both in terms of accessibility and environmental concerns. PRS for Music members who have graced M’s front cover early in their careers before becoming global superstars include six-time Grammy Award winner Amy Winehouse and also MIA; the only artist in history to be nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Brit Award, Mercury Prize and Alternative Turner Prize. Lewis Capaldi, Kojey Radical, Jade Bird, Tom Walker and Ghetts also featured long before chart success. Exclusive video interviews can be found from Boy George on why he won’t ever give his music away for free, to Richard Ashcroft on the song he’s most proud of writing. From home grown British acts to global superstars, encompassing jazz, folk and classical, to electronica, rap, indie and pop, M magazine exists to help inspire and grow the creative community it represents.
"Our members told us that they really value M Magazine and we’ve invested to make it even better. Its new identity and home will make it more accessible to our members and those from the industry who enjoy it. We’re looking to continually improve what we offer to songwriters, composers and publishers and M is at the heart of this. The team have done a great job and I know M fans are going to love its new look." - Barnaby Hooper, Director of Communications and Marketing, PRS for Music Live now at:
