Robert Abernathy, a prominent figure in Nashville's Country Music scene, is set to release his highly anticipated album, "Somewhere Around 18," on January 5th, 2024. This project, three decades in the making, showcases Abernathy's diverse musical journey, thanks to the collaboration with producer Josh Bright.

Abernathy, a seasoned musician with roots in Nashville's Broadway entertainment district, draws inspiration from 30 years of life experiences for this 18-track collection. The lead single, "You Can't Have my Boat," holds a unique story. Born from Abernathy's interaction with his 7th-grade students in 2018, the song evolved into a lighthearted anthem about a boat and divorce, resonating with audiences.

The album boasts a variety of musical styles, from bluesy tunes like "A Little Tied Up" to melodic ballads such as "Heaven Has a Radio" and "Daddy's Shadow." Abernathy praises producer Josh Bright for creating a tailored sound that complements each track, contributing to the album's anticipated success.
The collection features collaborations with notable songwriters, with Abernathy highlighting the organic process of co-writing. Notable tracks include "Heaven Has a Radio," a poignant reflection on family ties, and "Daddy's Shadow," a heartfelt exploration of fatherhood.

"Bless the Gun," a track co-written with Durand Robinson, delves into the effects of an abusive relationship, showcasing Abernathy's willingness to address challenging subjects through his music.

The album also delivers lighter moments with tracks like "Big Bass Problem," "Redneck Magic" (Featuring SMO), and "Like She Said She Would," showcasing Abernathy's ability to evoke smiles and laughter.

With a range of emotions explored across the 18-song masterpiece, "Somewhere Around 18" promises to leave a lasting impression on Country Music enthusiasts. The album will be available on all digital streaming services starting January 5th, 2024. Pre-save the album here:
