Los Angeles, CA and New York, NY – Peacock, NBCUniversal’s premium streaming service, and Bumble, the women-first dating app, have teamed up with the mission to defeat deception in “A Quest for Love,” a new co-marketing campaign featuring talent from the streamer’s Emmy ® award winning show “The Traitors.” The co-marketing campaign stars season two standouts Phaedra Parks, Parvati Shallow and Peter Weber, and highlights Bumble’s newest safety feature, Deception Detector™, which uses AI to verify profile authenticity on the dating app.

“In just two seasons, ‘The Traitors’ has become a cultural sensation, adding to Peacock’s line-up of unscripted hits that fuel pop culture and social conversations,” said Zaid Al-Asady, EVP, Brand Creative & Marketing, Peacock. “Together with our partners at Bumble, we are seizing the opportunity to capitalize on the show’s momentum, giving Peacock fans even more iconic moments and highlighting the Deception Detector ™ in a way that is entertaining and relevant.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with a cultural phenomenon like ‘The Traitors’ in such a natural, creative, and authentic way,” said Amy Ferris, VP Global Marketing, Bumble. “Putting the stars to work to weed out spam and scam just like our Deception Detector™ was such a fun way to tap into the synergy between the show and the Bumble date user experience.”

Launching just a week after the finale of the buzzy second season, the campaign incorporates key Traitors (Phaedra & Parvati) and Faithful (Peter) for one last challenge -- aiding Bumble in detecting fraudulent matches from potential romantic suitors where spam, scam, and fake accounts pose a threat. The concept comes to life using elements from the show that audiences have come to love, including the portrait wall which features potential suitors from Bumble, the classic ‘Traitor’ cloaks and the iconic one-liners from season two. This social-first collaboration will drop as a surprise & delight to fans, continuing to keep “The Traitors” favorites alive long after their banishment.

Bumble’s Deception Detector™ introduces a fast, reliable machine learning-based model to assess the authenticity of profiles and connections on Bumble Inc.’s platforms. Of those accounts identified as spam/scam profiles, Bumble Inc.’s testing showed that Deception Detector™ supported in blocking 95% of these accounts automatically. This automated and AI-based technology is used in conjunction with dedicated human support to prioritize a safe and empowering community.

The Traitors is a nail-biting psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game. Entertainment’s most competitive reality stars and famous faces play the ultimate murder mystery game. Hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming at an ancient castle set deep in the Scottish Highlands, contestants work together on a series of exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden amongst the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves. Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors murder the Faithful one by one in a treacherous spree, while the Faithful try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor or Traitors makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.
