‘Ketamine Therapy’ is a studio album by American producer Jonathan Hay that incorporates techno and electronic music. It was first released independently on his Soundcloud and Bandcamp in November of 2023. Hay commented that the album would be distributed “at some point” through traditional digital service providers and that it would be made available on physical copies.

According to Dr. Peter Grinspoon of Massachusetts General Hospital, and an instructor at Harvard Medical School stated, “Ketamine could provide hope for people with serious depression that can rob people of hope for the future and hope that they will ever feel better. Ketamine can provide help and hope to patients who have not found relief with any other treatments. Given its efficacy in people considering suicide, it is plausible that ketamine may be lifesaving.”

A prescription version of ketamine, given through a nasal spray, was approved in 2019 by the FDA for TRD (treatment-resistant depression); however, according to the guidelines, it is only to be used "under the supervision of a health care provider in a certified doctor's office or clinic."

It's fair to assume with an unabashed title such as ‘Ketamine Therapy’, that Jonathan Hay has used ketamine infusions to possibly help aid with his own mental health. It’s worth noting that Hay was a victim of a potent home invasion at Mallard Crossing of St. Matthews, a suburb in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was bound and duct-taped in an armed robbery. Forbes reported Hay about Hay’s trauma and PTSD from that life changing event.

With a release of 13 songs, ‘Ketamine Therapy’ is a noticeable departure from Hay’s “reimagined”, cover albums that he’s been producing since 2019. There are three tribute remake tracks; with versions of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit” and Herb Alpert’s “Rise”, which was first seen in Massachusetts’ alternative weekly Worcester Magazine.

The other 10 tracks on ‘Ketamine Therapy’ are “725 7th Ave”, “Dear Carl Cox”, “Elon Mus(k)”, ”One Night in Miami”, “Elrow Spanish Party Girl”, “Bathhouse”, “Rave on Fulton”, “Kenneth and Breonna”, “K-Hole at ReSolute NYC” and “Fire Kenny Payne”.
