Rebecca Ferguson To Perform At Today's Opening Ceremony Of IAAF World Championships
Rebecca Ferguson is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the IAAF World Championships in London today (August 4).
The British singer-songwriter, who received critical acclaim this year for being the fastest-selling UK debut solo artist of the decade so far, is set to sing the national anthem and her classic hit, "Glitter & Gold".
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and IAAF President Sebastian Coe will deliver the official welcome on behalf of the host city and the sport’s world governing body as the IAAF World Championships London 2017 commence at London Stadium tonight.
A record 2,038 athletes, representing more than 200 teams, will compete at the 16th edition of the IAAF’s flagship event, which runs through until August 13. The pre-show will begin at 18:00 (BST).
Competition on the opening day of the IAAF World Championships London 2017 will begin with the opening round of the men's discus throw at 19:20 and conclude with the final of the men's 10,000m, which features double world and Olympic champion Mo Farah of Great Britain.
