Buzzing Los Angeles songstress Shaylen unveils the video for her latest single “BTW,” an anthem about telling off your ex and then some.

The video is the directorial debut by actress Skyler Samuels ( American Horror Story, Scream Queens, The Gifted, Bloodline). Of the inspiration behind video, Shaylen says, “Skyler and I came up with this treatment together. The idea was to show freedom after realizing how bad the relationship really was. There is nothing negative in this feeling…it’s just freedom. Of expression, of sexuality. I wanted it to feel a little funny too. I mean, bad sex can also be funny…what’s not funny is if you stick around for it…”

The song arrives hot on the heels of 2018’s “ Isn’t You ,” which Billboard hails as “sultry. ” Meanwhile, her debut single “ El Dorado ” is nearing 1 million total streams. Be on the lookout for more as Shaylen gears up for a massive 2019 with more music.

Hailing from Dallas, TX, vocalist and songwriter Shaylen is both equal parts veteran and neophyte to the music industry. A former pop group member turned solo star, Shaylen became classically trained in piano and took master classes at the world renowned Septien Entertainment Group (home to other superstars like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato); and after a short-lived stunt in a successful global touring group Shaylen found herself moving to Los Angeles to re-start her music career.

While working multiple jobs and pushing out her music on social media, she began to create a sizable buzz in the industry. But it was through her songwriting and producing skills that she found her true identity, inking a publishing contract and collaborating with up and coming EDM producers on Soundcloud.

Fast forward to a major deal with Republic Records and the release of several breakout singles, this is the story of a rising powerhouse who is back… for the very first time.
