Sky Kids releases a clip of HRH The Prince of Wales from COP26: In Your Hands which launches on Sky Kids, Sky News, and NOW, today, 18 October, ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference, COP26 in November.

In the clip Prince Charles highlights his concerns for the planet and shares that his grandson Prince George is learning about climate change by telling viewers, “Like you he is learning how climate change is causing the big storms, and floods, the droughts, fires and food shortages we are seeing around the world.”

He continues “When I was his age, people had no idea about the damage they were doing, but by the time I was a teenager I started to see that if we didn’t stop polluting our planet, we would face a very dangerous future indeed.” Prince Charles also expresses concern that “we have forgotten that we have to put back into nature as much as we take out.”

Speaking of the six young climate activists in COP26: In Your Hands, HRH The Prince of Wales highlights the importance of the voices of young people, “their voices matter, and so does yours”, before ending by impressing on viewers that “your future depends upon the future of the planet.”

COP26: In Your Hands features six young climate change activists - Darielen, aged 15 from Brazil; Hannah, aged 17 from the UK; Kynan, aged 16 from Indonesia; Queen, aged 17 from Cameroon; Sophia, aged 15 from Canada, and 16-year-old Tamsyn, from Australia, who highlight the devastating impact climate change has had on their corners of the Earth.

As world leaders prepare to gather in Glasgow for COP26, the six young climate activists from six different continents deliver a powerful message about how climate change is already having an impact on their lives and deliver an emotive call to action. All of them have ideas about what needs to be done to save the Earth.

The 30-minute Sky Original documentary, commissioned by Sky Kids, COP26: In Your Hands is introduced by HRH The Prince of Wales who outlines his concerns for the planet and features UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as the host of COP26.

COP26: In Your Hands was filmed locally on location as part of Sky’s championing of sustainability.
