First-look trailer released for Sky Original comedy Bloods season 2

Sky has revealed the first-look trailer for the second series of the acclaimed original comedy Bloods airing Wednesday 16 March on Sky Comedy and streaming service NOW. Samson Kayo and Jane Horrocks are back on-screen as South London’s finest oddball dream team Wendy and Maleek, along with their paramedic colleagues in the day-to-day life-saving world of an emergency service.

The ten-episode series will air in two five-part drops and has been created for Sky by BAFTA award-winning Roughcut TV (Stath Lets Flats, People Just Do Nothing, Cuckoo) in association with Sky Studios.

Series two welcomes a new source of conflict for Wendy and Maleek in the form of Wendy’s deeply irritating son, Spencer (Nathan Foad). Also joining the cast is Katherine Kelly (Innocent, Liar) as the ambulance station’s acting counsellor and listening ear. This series sees Jo’s crush on Lawrence revealed, Darrel and Darryl facing separation and Gary and Kareshma becoming emotionally involved with a patient., so a councellor may be just what the team need!

The show’s returning cast includes Lucy Punch (Motherland) as boisterous station boss Jo, and Julian Barratt (Mighty Boosh) as grieving widower Lawrence. Adrian Scarborough (Gavin and Stacey) and Aasiya Shah (Raised By Wolves) reprise their roles as Gary and Kareshma, paramedics with diametrically opposing career outlooks, and Kevin Garry (Ted Lasso) and Sam Campbell as the glued-to-the-hip duo of paramedics Darrell and Darryl.

Bloods is produced by Roughcut TV in association with Sky Studios. The comedy was commissioned by Jon Mountague, Director of Comedy, Sky Studios and Tilusha Ghelani, Commissioning Editor, Sky Studios, for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK. Created by Samson Kayo and Nathan Bryon, Bloods is written by Nathan Bryon and Paul Doolan (Trollied) and produced by Debbie Pisani (Flack, Back to Life). New writers include Patricia Elcock, Tasha Dhanraj and Tom Melia. The Executive Producers for Roughcut TV are Ash Atalla (The Office, The IT Crowd) and Alex Smith (Trollied) Tilusha Ghelani is the Executive Producer for Sky Studios. Bloods will be distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution on behalf of Sky Studios.

Bloods Season 2 will launch Wednesday 16 March on Sky Comedy and NOW.
