Tide Lines Making Waves with 2m Spotify Streams, New Record Deal, European Festivals, UK TourTide Lines are delighted to announce their first headline UK tour, a summer of European and UK festivals appearances and a new record deal.OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Scary Biscuits Promotions Tide Lines are delighted to announce their first headline UK tour, a summer of European and UK festivals appearances and a new record deal. This band from the Highlands has gone from a clutch of digital singles to a debut album with over 2 million spotify streams in under 2 years. And now they’re aiming to take their music to new audiences. Forged from the literature and music of the areas where they grew up, Tide Lines meld romantic, rural life with a record collection of classic American songwriters. Imagine, if you will, a 70’s Springsteen and an E-Street band of bagpipes and electronics! 2018 promises a summer full of festivals, including Denmark’s Tønder Festival, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and Stornoway’s HebCelt, plus European and UK touring (including opening for the Levellers in Hull). The next chapter for their debut album Dreams We Never Lost is just about to begin too. Previously only available at their gigs, or direct from the band, the album has racked up over 10,000 sales. Those figures, as well as the quality of the music, drew the attention of bespoke Scottish record label Middle of Nowhere Recordings, who have just announced they will give the album a full UK and international release on 19 October 2018, with a brand new album release due in 2019. Tide Lines will undertake their first UK-wide headline tour – 19 dates across the UK, from Aberdeen on 31 October, and including London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Newcastle, finishing at Glasgow’s O2 on 8 December - to promote the album release. Tide Lines are 4 talented young musicians originally from the Highlands of Scotland. Their roots run from Hebridean Islands to Lochaber through Alness and Lossiemouth to the West End and South Side of Glasgow. Whilst still in their (very) early 20s singer Robert Robertson and multi-instrumentalist Ross Wilson were a substantial part of Scottish super-group Skipinnish but left to set up their own band in late 2016. 2 became 4 and 4 became Tide Lines when Alasdair Turner (guitar & bagpipes) and Fergus Munro (drums) were recruited. A clutch of digital singles saw a fervent online fanbase grow rapidly, consuming in their thousands everything from a limited pressing of their debut album Dreams We Never Lost to a rampant demand for concert tickets. Growing a fanbase entirely organically Tide Lines have racked up nearly 2 million single track streams on Spotify. Their videos play to hundreds of thousands on YouTube and their social media accounts number followers in the tens of thousands. Eventually with all this buzz and a raft of sold out shows, The Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe (BBC Radio 2) gave the band their first national radio airplay in March 2018, for Far Side of the World. Tide Lines are a band who are rapidly realising their dreams, and making waves as they aim for the far side of the world… and beyond!
