Renowned contemporary artist Takashi Murakami raised over $1.3M for the Black Lives Matter Movement through his recent sales of exclusive, limited-edition prints on NTWRK.
All of the profits from the sales were donated to the following social justice organizations: Color Of Change, Black Lives Matter (National, LA, Detroit, Boston, Philly), Equal Justice Initiative, Communities United Against Police Brutality, Advancement Project, My Block, My Hood, My City, Precious Dreams Foundation, The Bklyn Combine, Arts Administrators of Color, The Okra Project, The Hidden Genius Project, 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, Women in Entertainment Network (Ween), Our Own, and Street Code Academy.
“I’m grateful that I was able to take small part in the historic BLM movement and to make a social statement,” says Murakami. “It was entirely thanks to NTWRK’s platform that I was able to get involved while being in Japan. I also want to sincerely thank everyone who participated and contributed by entering the draw for the prints.”

About Takashi Murakami:
Born in 1962 in Tokyo, Murakami draws from traditional Japanese painting, sci-fi, anime, and the global art market to create paintings, sculptures, and films populated by repeated motifs and mutating characters. He has held solo exhibitions at major art institutions around the globe and is widely known for his projects with fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Supreme, as well as collaborations with musicians such as Kanye West and Pharrell Williams. Murakami is the founder and president of Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., an art production and artist management company.
