Today, Roosevelt (known internationally as celebrated producer, DJ, songwriter, and electronic musician Roosevelt) has put his funk-fortified and ESG-inspired latest single “Feels Right” in the hands of celebrated DJ and Running Back label-cofounder Gerd Janson who has delivered a remix of otherworldly results. With his vast experience in house and disco, Janson injected a shimmering galactic vibe to the track, taking it starbound. LISTEN HERE

“Gerd has always been one of my favourite DJs,” said Lauber of this collaboration. “I‘ve been to a couple of his gigs already and it‘s crazy how he‘s always 'in control' of the dance-floor. I was super excited when he was up to do his version of 'Feels Right' and it’s a big honour to be releasing a remix by him.”

“A bag of ear candy! That is what comes to mind, when I think of Roosevelt’s music,” said Gerd Janson. “It is hard to make his expressive take on danceable pop music even more dance-floor ready without damaging his immaculate songwriting skills. Therefore, I tried my best to deliver a slightly more punchy interpretation with DJs and (nowadays private) dancers in mind. Thanks for having me!“

The original version of “Feels Right” was spotlighted by Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Variance Magazine, and more, and the track will be included on Roosevelt’s forthcoming hotly-anticipated new album ‘Polydans’ (out Feb 26, 2021 via City Slang / Greco-Roman). The album serves as a love letter to dance music, with Roosevelt embracing his own musical history and his love of the multi-faceted nature of the genre, and reconnecting with the intimate nuances that can make dance music feel truly alive. Roosevelt created ‘Polydans’ by swirling together the spirits of 80s synth, disco, analogue, Yacht rock, and delirious dancefloor euphoria with amazing results.

An ode to adhering to your own intuition, “Feels Right” (and its hilarious music video) is very much a mission statement for ‘Polydans’, finding Roosevelt fully steering the creative ship of the new record going as far as to play nearly all of the instruments featured on it. Prior to “Feels Right”, Roosevelt released fellow album cuts “Sign” which Billboard said “balances 80s-inspired synth, disco, driving beats and cinematic textures into a musical amalgamation that simultaneously manages effervescence and heft,” and the follow-up “Echoes” which Stereogum described as a “strobe-lit and expansive cut that locks into an insistent groove and periodically explodes into bright colors,” and Earmilk called a “groovy space disco offering”.
